Hawaiian Hurricane Popcorn with Furikake

Yields 4 servings

Ingredients for popcorn
1 cup organic corn kernels
¼ cup macadamia or coconut oil
¼ cup sesame seeds
1 tablespoon coconut sugar
1 teaspoon sea salt
2 sheets nori

Directions
Preheat oil in a large saucepan on low-medium heat, add 3 corn kernels and cover.
When the kernels pop, remove the lid; remove the saucepan from the heat; discard the 3 popped kernels. Pour the cup of kernels into the pot, cover, and put the pot back onto the heated burner for 2 to 3 minutes. When the kernels slow their pop cycle, remove the lid; remove the pot from the heat, and set aside. Store unused popcorn in a paper bag for up to 3 days.

Now for the Furikake: Toast sesame seeds in a dry cast iron skillet over low-medium heat for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally; set aside to cool. Make sure the skillet is not too hot as this will make the sesame seeds pop out of the skillet.
Cut your nori into small pieces and place into a food processor. Add coconut sugar, sea salt, and the cooled sesame seeds. Pulsate until blended and place into a 4-ounce Mason jar. Store unused portions in the refrigerator.

Pour 2 cups popped corn and ¼ cup furikake seasoning into a large glass bowl; cover with lid or tight plastic wrap and shake vigorously. Love butter? Use a couple tablespoons of melted Earth Balance Olive Oil Butter, toss, and enjoy.

I invite you to indulge in satisfying and appealing recipes inspired by locations and cuisines all around the world whilst finally indulging without the guilt.

I have often added furikake to my salad at Whole Foods Market (salad bar); however, I have never found where in the grocery store to purchase furikake. Adding to popcorn sounds like a fun (and healthy) idea. Where can I find this?
